What’s your star sign?

My star sign is Aries.

How were you scouted?

I had a music meeting in New York, because I sing, and after the meeting out at lunch I got scouted. It was just great timing and luck I guess.

What’s been your favourite job to date?

Prada as my first runway job. That was definitely a special moment. Doing the show only 2 days after signing my first modelling contract. Quite insane.

But I also really loved the Burberry show this season. Everything about the show was amazing. The clothing, set up and live music. It was beautiful.

While you were growing up what were you listening to?

I was listening to Michael Jackson, D’ Angelo, Marvin Gaye, Luther Vandross, Usher, Aaliyah, Charlie Wilson, Tank, Chris Brown. Those artists are still my favourite today. They’ve made timeless music. Nothing but amazing memories come to mind when those songs come on, that’s something I appreciate so much. 

How would you describe your style in three words?

Uncomplicated, individual and comfortable.

Is there anything you couldn’t live without?

My family and music.

Who would love to be stuck in a lift with?

If I could go back in time, I’d want to be stuck in a lift with Michael Jackson. So many questions I would have loved to ask about his creative process.

What would you like to be doing in five years’ time?

Releasing albums and touring the world for music.

Can you tell us something that not many people know about you?

That I am half South African. My father was born in Cape Town. And my Mum was born in Melbourne, Australia. 

What did you want to be growing up?

A football player. I caught a bad groin injury at the age of 12, and then decided to be a singer haha. Happy I made that decision. 

We’re coming over dinner – what are you cooking us?

Not going to lie… I make some mean 2 minute noodles. I’d probably make that. Haha!

Is there anything you’re scared of?

Sharks. I am very scared of sharks.

That is the only thing I’m scared of.

What’s your favourite emoji?

The crystal ball….

Who’s your favourite person to follow on Instagram?

Pharrell! Such a good mix of music and fashion. That dude is too cool. 

How would your friends describe you in 3 words?

Creative, quiet and caring.
