JADE THOMPSON

Models 1 caught up with Jade Thompson, the winner of this year’s Britain and Ireland’s Next Top Model. Born and raised in Stoke-on-Trent, Jade first attracted attention at Britains Next Top Model Live after putting her name down for the open catwalk. Her striking, unforgettable look and wonderful personality propelled her to the top of the competition, and since winning the show, has been non-stop. As the current face of Revlon, and the cover star of Company magazine, her life has taken a dramatic turn. This is only the beginning of a very promising career, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Models 1: Wow, congratulations! How do you feel about being Britain and Irelands Next Top Model?

Jade Thompson: To win Britain and Irelands Next Top Model is a huge achievement for me. I’d never done any modelling before so it was a shock, but a great one, and I am so honoured to be representing the country!

M1: How was it moving to London and living in the model flat?

JT: It was a little daunting moving to such a big place and living with people I didn’t know, but I was just so excited to be starting a new chapter of my life!

Jade’s Revlon Campaign

M1: Which shoot did you enjoy the most?

JT: I enjoyed the Falconry Ireland editorial shoot the most- brilliant location, clothes, hair and theme. I felt very at ease.

M1: Which shoot did you find the most difficult?

JT: I didn’t enjoy the ballet shoot as my dress didn’t fit me and that limited my poses. I was in the bottom three for that task.

M1: How would you describe your style?

JT: I’d say it’s casual but fashionable, and a little quirky depending on my mood when i wake up! I love Topshop!

M1: What do you think it was that made you stand out amongst the other girls?

Jade at the MOBO Awards in Glasgo

JT: I think my unique look, colouring and personality. I was determined, and very willing to learn and progress.

M1: What is the most important skill you gained from the show?

JT: I now feel confident enough to take on anything. I did so many outrageous things on the show, and now I feel like I can do all that’s asked of me!

M1: What are your hobbies?

JT: I love going to the gym and socialising with my friends mainly. I am a very active person and enjoy most sports.

M1: Are you a night owl or a day bird?

JT: I am definitely a day bird. I love to sleep- as soon as I hit the pillow I’m out!

M1: Who would be your ultimate designer to work for?

JT: I would love to be a Victoria’s Secret model, and would also love to work with Burberry – the skies the limit!

M1: This is just the beginning of a very exciting career for you. What are your plans for 2012?

JT: It would be great to travel in 2012. I would love to go to America!
