Avon Cosmetics has today announced singer and TV presenter, Alesha Dixon, as its Beauty and Empowerment Ambassador for the UK and Ireland. In this newly created role, Alesha will act as spokeswoman for Avon’s make-up category and its domestic violence cause.

More than a model, Alesha will also support Avon’s domestic violence initiatives. Avon UK has donated over £500,000 to its domestic violence charity partners Refuge, Women’s Aid and UN WOMEN, to help end violence against women and Alesha will look to help increase that figure next year by promoting Avon’s Empowerment product .

Alesha Dixon joins an impressive line of celebrities that represent the beauty giant, including Hollywood actress Reese Witherspoon and lead vocalist of The Black Eyed Peas & multi-platinum recording artist Fergie, and she is delighted to join the Avon family.

She comments: “I’m so incredibly proud to partner with Avon, a company that empowers women and brings beauty to their lives. Being the face of Avon make-up means I’ve discovered so many amazing beauty treats that I can’t wait to share. Her first beauty campaign will see her launching the brand’s latest foundation innovation, Ideal Flawless. The Ideal Flawless range will offer Avon’s widest shade selection with Alesha appearing in brochures from February 2012.

Alesha says: “With Avon’s Ideal Flawless, I’ve discovered a foundation that gives immaculate coverage and celebrates my natural complexion.”
