Pips Taylor — Festival No 6
Hey Models1 blog… Pips Taylor here sharing my amazing weekend at Festival Number 6.. As a huge music fan and lover of festivals, I have been lucky enough to go most festivals in the UK. Its fair to say I love a good stomp in a field. So, when I was invited to FN6 with sponsors Chandon UK, I jumped at the opportunity as it had been on my hitlist for a long time… my friend Laura and I have declared that and it is hands down the best festival I have ever been to!
Firstly, the setting is completely magical. Portmerrion is a village in Wales- but not just any village it is an Italianate Coastal Village.. designed by Sir Clough William Ellis between 1925-75. Its a surreal and magical setting for a truly incredible festival.
FN6 boast not only a picturesque village, but also a Castle – Castell Duradeth- a castle with a bar.. and a whoppingly great dance tent just outside.. Studio 6 where we saw The 2 Bears later on Friday night and then Andrew Weatherill later on the Sunday.
We stayed in the Retreat part of the festival in a gorgeous Yurt for the weekend and arrived on the Thursday. After a chilled night on Thursday we were ready for our adventure… and on Friday the sun was shining.. we headed into the festival…
We had lunch at iconic Clough’s restaurant and ate delights created by James Knappett’s who created BubbleDogs and is head Chef of Kitchen Table. I ate the best lamb I have ever eaten and the view of the beach was amazing.
Friday afternoon we headed into the woods for a stomp on a Pagoda… which had high disco balls floating in the lake… We then headed back to the camp where we had our Glitterlution (eco-friendly glitter!) experience – now suitably festival ready! We caught a bit of the Kaiser Chiefs, headed down to the village to the Town Hall to watch The No.6 Choir belt out ‘Victorious’ before heading to Bastille, who rocked! Afterwards – The 2 Bears, a london based musical duo composed of Joe Goddard (from Hot Chip) beckoned up by the Castle.
Saturday the heavens opened with force but we enjoyed sipping Chandon all day long before heading down to the village and onto Supper at Cloughs with Gizzi Erskine where the local seafood took centre stage. It was delicious! After a lovely supper we headed over to see Hot Chip and then onto French House music duo Cassius at the Late Night Pavillion.
Our hosts were amazing, a big thank you to them and our incredible group (below) it was a magical experience all round – a fairytale weekend. Hope you enjoy the snaps -Until next time Pips X
