Rebeca ¦¦ Models 1 Introducing

A couple of months ago we formed a collaboration with Star Now to hold a country wide model search. The amount of entries we received was astonishing and even came above and beyond anything we had expected. Not only were we presented with a long list of candidates but those candidates were also of an incredibly high standard. We bought it down to a final few & really had a tough time choosing the winner. But once the decision was made, we couldn’t have been more delighted with our choice. Although only newly signed, we have already cast our eyes on Rebeca more than a few times as she has been in and out of the office for castings. She has a fantastic energy and a very individual sense of style which we all adore at the Models 1 HQ. We wanted all of you to get to know Rebeca so we grabbed her in between her busy schedule for a quick interview about her experience so far…

How does it feel to have won the Star Now competition out of over 3000 applicants?

Quite flattering actually, but more lucky than anything else.

What are your plans for the next couple of months?

I want to study hard and finish my 2nd year with a first, whilst making some money so I can have a great summer.

Do you have any goals for your career in modelling (more specifically any designers/ photographers you would love to work with)?

Money and traveling mainly if I’m honest.

What advice can you offer to other girls who are looking to get into modelling?

Just keep trying and believe in yourself. Don’t ever think it’s a big deal. It will only make you believe it’s harder for you to get in than it actually is, and you’ll create the wrong energy.

What do like doing in your free time, I hear you are in a band?

Yeah we haven’t been playing because my drummer has fallen in love…But he promised we’ll start when he gets back from Israel this month. It’s the best show in town I guarantee! We’re called Puteros (it means guys that go to prostitutes) I sing/shout in German and play some bluesy guitar. I’m honored to play with the best drummer in the world and on stage I dance ballet to the drumbeat. Also we’ve got a pretty hot Italian chick doing backing vocals and playing some percussion.

Other than that I like playing piano whenever I find one, meditating, baking and shagging.

What is on your iPod at the moment?

Well it just broke so nothing… Before that, from The Jimi Hendrix Experience and The Jimi Hendrix Experience and The Jimi Hendrix Experience, to Jamie T,  Nirvana, ska-p, System of a Down, Frank Zappa and Shakira (she was the most Rock ‘n’ Roll thing in the 90’s, I don’t care what people say!).

Is there anybody who has inspired you over the years in terms of life and style?

Naomi Klien, Sophie Harman, Aleister Crowley, Audrey Hepburn, L7, Hole and my own boredom

Have you ever made any huge fashion mistakes?

I got my best friend to cut my hair when we were 12… I didn’t regret it at the time, but god did I look awful! I looked like a bad joke about some manga cartoon character. I reckon I started off the emo scene. I hope not…

What was the last book or film you watched/ read?

“Production Power and World Order” by Robert Cox… The last thing I started reading outside my academic life was “The Women Who Run with the Wolves”  by Clarissa Pinkola Etes. It’s a fascinating book and I can’t wait to get time off to pick it up again.

If you weren’t modelling what would you love to be doing?

Traveling plus all the rest of the stuff I’m still doing anyway: Play music, study, dance ballet, yoga, ride my bike, read and work in a pub.

Something you have never told anyone?

I just squeezed a new spot on my bottom.

Any special party tricks or little Rebeca traits?

Stop getting pissed until you are useless and do something real; dance and if you can’t then shake your ass or jump around! So bored of boring people…

How would you describe yourself in three words?

Dyslexic, Dyspraxic and Horny

We are very excited to have you on board Rebeca xx
