DROP THE BOOKS: MEET M1’s NEW CLASS

Getting “discovered” as a model means being scouted on your way to the mall, signing with a dream agency, then making it big time, right? Not quite. For some, there’s a little thing called school that that must come before leaving your old life behind to become a top model. Here at M1, we encourage our models to build their books in between their studies before going full-time because the only thing better than a great model, is a smart one.

We’ve got a crop of new guys and girls settling into their new roles since leaving university this past summer and excited to share what they’ve been up to and what lies ahead.

Tamara Long has been with us for some time now, having walked London fashion week two seasons in a row.  Since graduating university with a degree in Media Production, she hit New York Fashion week for the first time at the SS’18 shows where she was seen at Sies Marjan and Gabriella Hearst. This season in London, Long could be seen at Preen, Jasper Conran, and Maison Martin Margiella’s MM6 Presentation. When asked about her career post-uni, Tamara simply says she’s excited for what’s to come.

Laurence James has hit the ground running this summer, becoming the newest face of Ted Baker golf. His work with the brand is a perfect fit as James is an avid golf player himself, playing semi-pro, his handicap is two under par (whatever that means, we’re sure it’s impressive). When he isn’t on set or working on his golfing form, he spends his time working for various charitable organisations.

Nicole Joseph has a bit of cinderella story with us. Joseph came to M1 about a year ago as an intern and of course we know a great face when we see one, we just had to sign her. She’s got a huge personality to match her gorgeous halo of curls and lights up the room during castings. Keep your eyes peeled for this one!

Elliot Meeten, has been on a roll since graduating from the University of Sussex with a First Class Honours degree in BSc Geography this past summer. Back from a three week trip to Milan where he met with the Armani and Moschino teams, there’s nothing getting in the way of his raise to the top. How do we know? He just shot with Testino…enough said. Meeten’s been making the rounds, most recently at the GQ Grooming Awards in London and he’ll be hitting New York later this month.

Maisie is one of our newest faces, having walked into the agency and being signed on the spot. While she’s still in development, it’s evident by her early work that we have a great girl on our hands and we’re excited to see how she progresses.

Isaac Brown has just come on as well, completing a course in Geoscience at Uni in Egham. He stays model fit with rowing and rugby and working hard on developing his portfolio.
