Icon and long standing supermodel Carmen Dell’Orefice is finally being documented in a long overdue exhibition, Carmen¦ A Life in Fashion. Curated by renowned artist and good friend David Downton, the exhibit will showcase archives of her incredible career, photographed by legendary photographers including Cecil Beaton, Irving Penn, Norman Parkinson, Horst P Horst, Hiro, and Lillian Bassman.

Celebrating her 80th birthday this year, Carmen is showing no signs of slowing down. “The alternative, at my point in life,’ she says “is unacceptable”. This is the attitude that has kept Carmen at the top of her game since the age of 15, when she made her first Vogue cover, and her work ethic is one we should all stand by: “show up for the job, be careful of the company you keep, and have fun…if it’s not fun it’s no fun!”

It looks like every one could take a few tips from Carmen Dell’Orefice, and now’s your chance. Carmen¦ A life in Fashion is being held at the Fashion Space Gallery at London College of Fashion from November 16th 2011- January 14th 2011.
