Temperley London, launched in 2000, has taken its place amongst fashion’s power houses, as well as regularly appearing on the red carpet, with fans including Sarah Jessica Parker and Sienna Miller. Best known for its timeless elegance and exquisite craftsmanship, Temperley London produces four collections a year including ready-to-wear, Black Label, Bridal and Accessories. With stores in London, New York, Los Angeles, Abu Dubai and Dubai, and the Temperley London line being sold in more than 220 boutiques and department stores across 35 countries, it is no surprise that the brand is only getting stronger. Models 1 caught up with Lyonel Tollemache.
Models 1: Can you tell me a little bit about Temperley London?
Lyonel: Launched during London Fashion Week 2000, the Temperley London label has become synonymous with timeless glamour, exquisite craftsmanship and collections desired by women all over the world. We have just had our SS 2011 presentation in New york for ALICE by Temperley diffusion line and its our ten year anniversary coming up, so all pretty hectic at the Notting Hill Temperley HQ at the moment.
M1: What is your role for the brand?
Co-Marketing and New Media Director.
L: Describe a Temperley girl?
Sexy, independent, feminine, stylish. She has fun with her look. The ALICE by Temperley girl has more of a rock n roll edge and likes to mix things up.
M1: The clothes have attracted style-setting fans like Scarlett Johansson, Micha Barton and Keira Knightley. How has this affected you as a brand?
L: It is very flattering when incredible women, like the above, choose to wear our clothes.
M1: What should we be wearing this season?
L: Leather trousers, velvet jackets, oversized shirts. Our knitted jackets with chain detailing look amazing worn with trousers.
M1: Do have any key pieces that sell year in year out?
L: The classic Temperley pieces always do incredibly well-the feminine, sexy, very flattering styles.
M1: Everything is moving forward online, what are you doing to keep up with this?
L: We have an online team and are constantly working on new ideas and concept. We have our blog www.alicebytemperley.com/blog which we’ve received an incredible response to ; we’re on Twitter, Facebook. It’s a great way to be able to communicate with fans of the brand directly. M1: What can we expect from you in 2011?
2011 very exciting for us as we have our ten year anniversary with lots of very special and exciting projects planned…
