M1 Curve Talks | Bikini Season

M1 Curve babes are all over our Instagram feeds looking exceptional in their swimwear on each end of the world.

Talk about vacation envy.

With all that sand and lovely tans, we want to know how where their favourite beaches are and how they select their seductive swimwear. We’re also chatting about bikini bods. What are they? Who has them? How do you get one?

M1: Do you believe in “Bikini Bods”?

JL: I totally believe in bikini bodies and, since were here, here’s how you get your best bikini body.

Step 1: Find a bikini you like.

Step 2: Put the ‘kini on.

Step 3: Go to the beach and, YAY!!!! You have your best bikini bod.

M1: When picking a swimsuit, do you love solid colours? Or Patterns?

JL: My tip for swimwear is to find something you’re comfortable wearing. For me, my big boobs often mean that if I want to spend hours at a time in a cozzie I need to wear something with support; a triangle bikini is just not going to cut the mustard around my neck. So, I’m loving that bra style swimmer tops are on trend right now so my tatas get all the support they need for those long summer days ;) Also, I live for tied sides on the bottom; they’re sexy.

M1: What are some of your favourite beaches or ones that you’d love to visit?

JL: I’m very lucky because Australia has some of the most beautiful and glorious beaches in the world, truly (I’m not going to tell you the specific ones because I like to keep my spots a secret). Every summer I’m back home and I find a new beach that just blows my mind. But there are still some places I want to get to. Mexico is on the list, and so are some spots in South America. But when I discover an amazing beach I do get hit with a pang of sadness because, with the way the environment is going, how long will we have it for? It’s sad that that’s a question we have to ask ourselves.

M1: Do you believe in “Bikini Bods”?

AV: Well, a ‘bikini body’ is “an oppressive concept that seeks to squeeze women into a specific mold” and I don’t believe in that! Actually, I think everyone has a ‘bikini body’. Just put a bikini on and that’s it, you have a bikini body of your own. It’s that simple. It doesn’t matter if you’re short, tall, slim or curvy, just wear whatever you want and get your tan on!

M1: What are some common problems you have when looking for swimwear?

AV: I think one of the problems I have when looking for swimwear is finding the right fit, sometimes the bottom will fit perfectly and the top won’t or vice versa, sometimes I’m in between sizes. So when summer is right around the corner shopping for swimwear is kind of a mission.

M1: When picking a swimsuit, do you love solid colours? Or Patterns?

AV: I prefer wearing solid colours over patterns and I always go for the brightest colours. I love a bright yellow or red.

M1: What are some of your favourite swimwear styles?

AV: When it comes to bikinis I prefer bandeau tops and the bottoms have to be high leg.

M1: What would you say to young girls that self-conscious about heading to the beach this summer?

AV:  I’d say: We’re all here in this world to live our best lives so don’t waste any of your time worrying about insecurities that shouldn’t even be bothering you in the first place! Everyone has different body shapes and that’s ok. Cellulite, stretch marks, rolls, etc. are all normal. Just enjoy yourself.

M1: What are some of your favourite beaches or ones that you’d love to visit?

AV: My favourite beaches are all back home in Portugal! I really couldn’t pick just a few but I’d love to go to Santa Monica beach in California.

M1: Do you believe in “Bikini Bods”?

K:  I’ve never heard about the ” bikini Bods” movement before but I believe that every person who has managed to accept themselves looks wonderful in a bikini!

M1: What are some common problems you have when looking for swimwear?

K: My biggest problem when it comes to finding a swimsuit is the chest support. Especially when it’s a one piece… fabrics are often too thin. And also finding my bra size, I am between two cup sizes. There should be more cup sizes!

M1: When picking a swimsuit, do you love solid colours? Or Patterns?

K: I prefer solid colours usually but I’d love to find some patterns swimsuits! Some with 1970’s patterns would be incredible!

M1: What are some of your favourite swimwear styles?

K: I really like asymmetrical swimsuits. I like simplicity but smart simplicity!

M1: What’s one thing you wish swimwear designers did more when crafting plus sizes?

K: I wish they thought more about the support of the chest. It is very uncomfortable to have to check every 2 minutes if your boobs are still inside your bra ahah.

M1: Can you name some of your favourite swim brands?

K:  My favorite swimsuits brands are Solids and Striped and The Fold Swim, a new Australian brand that does cups that actually fit!

M1: What are some of your favourite beaches or ones that you’d love to visit?

K:  I don’t know if we can call this a beach but I love Cassis rocky inlets in the South of France. It feels like humans haven’t discovered this place yet (when there’s not a lot of people there ahah) because it remains very natural. Nusa Penida Island seems to have beautiful beaches I’d love to visit!

M1: What are some common problems you have when looking for swimwear?

AC: First the size, its hard to get a big size for swimwear on stores, its easier online but still i would love to try it on before buy it, and second designs, some brands still don’t get what is to design for a big girl, and they just make exactly the same sample for a xs than a xxl which obviously won’t fit the same,  we have  a different type of body. different  curves, boobs etc

M1: When picking a swimsuit, do you love solid colours? Or Patterns?

AC: I love solid Colours and some solids with phrases

M1: What are some of your favourite swimwear styles?

AC: I love one piece pieces i love how they  make my curves look.

M1: What’s one thing you wish swimwear designers did more when crafting plus sizes?

AC: Have more choices, there is also not just one time of plus size body, some   girls are bigger on the top, some not, so i would love to have many options for when  you have big boobs, have like a great support or when you have a big but not boobs maybe  something design special for these type of bodies.

M1: What would you say to young girls that self-conscious about heading to the beach this summer?

ENJOY! That is the only thing you should be worrying about, enjoy your day, your family, friends, food at the beach, the sun, the ocean – those days won’t come back, so don’t waste time feeling bad about how you look or if  your stretch marks will be seen, come on! It’s all part of this amazing body you’ve got that allows you to live life, so please ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY ENJOY BEYOND YOUR MARKS , BEYOND STEREOTYPES, ETC… just allow you self to feel all the love you’ve got for your life.

M1: What are some of your favourite beaches or ones that you’d love to visit?

AC: I love Cancun in Mexico, Coromandel in New Zealand, Varadero in Cuba, and  Samoa!  and I would love to visit Thailand!
