Gia Johnson- Singh has been lucky enough to travel the world with her job but even more luckily she is able to spend three months in India most years. She explains “I decided to try modelling in Mumbai over 4 years ago. For me and everyone I knew in Europe, it was an unknown industry. As soon as I touched down in Mumbai I encountered various interesting smells. That is what hits you first, and then there is the noise and the chaos. You are thrown into it and there is so much to absorb in every direction you turn.”

She went on tell us “My father is from Punjab so I have been coming here for years but never Mumbai. I love how diverse this country is and the energy you feel as soon as you get off the plane is indescribable. Have you read the book Shanteram? The author quotes “everyone falls in love when they come to India” and it’s so true.”

She feels that in India people are so hungry to achieve and develop so it’s a great place to feel motivated. As a model, she gets looked after extremely well. In between all the work Gia tries to make time to explore the fascinating country…
