Model Crush: Interview with Supermodel Claudia Mason

Claudia Mason Blog2

What have you got on at the moment?

There is so much to keep up with at the moment. I have a UK indie feature film called Here Lies that has been submitted to various film festivals. Alongside my acting I am in the process of writing a book which is currently under wraps so I will have to keep quiet about that and of course I have been keeping up with my modelling and TV work.

Can you remember one of your first ever shoots?

Yes, it was for Vogue and I remember it was an editorial featuring a massive selection of hats. I had a massive pimple as I was still only 14/15 years old and I was terrified it would ruin the whole thing but we survived and no one worried.

What was your first campaign?

Versace, shot by Richard Avedon.

Who were your favourite photographers to work with?

I loved working with them all. I had an amazing relationship with Mario Testino, Arthur Elgort, Pamela Hanson and Patrick Demarchelier.

Who were your model friends?

We were travelling so much so sometimes it was hard to keep in touch but you always knew that at fashion week you’d all be together again. I loved seeing my favourite friendly faces like Yasmin Le Bon and Heather Stewart – Whyte. We had so much fun!!

Where are you based now?

NY – born and raised.

What’s your secret to keeping fit & looking so young?

Drink water, it’s obvious but so true, keep your mind thinking positively and eat well because it’s true that fruit and veg are essential for the oils and elasticity in your skin and yoga. I swear by yoga!

What beauty tips did you pick up backstage?

When applying mascara you must never ever pump, you only need to press the wand in once and then scrap any residue off on the sides.

Which beauty product could you not live without?

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré 30ml

If you could change anything – would you?

No, never regret!
